Summer Activities at Memorial Park Community Food Growing Hub

Luton Hoo Memorial Park, West Hill Road, Luton, LU1 3LZ (car park on site)

All activities are free to attend! In lieu of payment and if you are able to, we would welcome a fruit or veg donation that we can provide to support local food crisis projects in Luton.

This summer, we have a wide range of free activities for you and your family to get involved with at our community food growing hub. See below for more information and how to book.

Family wildplay activities

Join in with a range of activities at the community garden including; mud play, food growing and harvesting, stories, hunts, natural arts and more. Have fun playing and learning together!

Mondays from 1pm - 3pm on 2, 9, and 16 August.

Community hub food growing activities

Join us to help develop our community food growing hub. Lots of activities including food growing, weeding, watering. Help us to start clearing a new area of the garden in preparation for a new family growing area.

Mondays from 10am - 12pm on 2, 9, 23, and 30 August.

(No need to book. Sessions thanks to funding from the Lottery Community Fund)

Garden Explorers

Activity sessions focused on exploring and enjoying that garden! Join us for treasure hunts, bug hunting, food tasting, and learning how to grow your own food. As well as cooking a healthy snack. 

Tuesdays from 10am - 12pm on 10, 19, and 24 August.

Family wildlife session

Join us for a fun packed session including making animal prints, bug hunting, making bird feeders, and more!

Wednesday 11 August from 10am - 12pm.

Interested in volunteering?

Volunteers needed to support the SMASH holiday programme this summer at a local Luton school. Support children in outdoor play opportunities, serving up food and helping out in the kitchen. Monday 26 – Thursday 29 July 2021.
